Shooting reported in the 600 block of Arbor Court

The Newport News Police Department is notifying residents about a recent incident involving a shooting that occurred in the 600 block of the Arbor Court area.

The incident was reported at 5:08 p.m. Oct. 9.

According to a report released by the police department, when officers arrived at the scene they located an 18-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to the face back and arm lying in the wood line to the rear of the residences.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries. Residents in the area report seeing three to five males in the area and hearing four to six shots.
