Huntington Ingalls Industries donates to American Red Cross disaster relief

Huntington Ingalls Industries recently donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

"Donations will go toward providing much-needed food, shelter and supplies to people who have lost everything," said Bill Ermatinger, the company's corporate vice president and chief human resources officer, in a press release.

The company operates Newport News Shipbuilding, which builds U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines while also providing aftermarket services for both. 

Huntington Ingalls Industries is at 4101 Washington Ave., Newport News.
