Traffic fatality at Turlington and Warwick

The Newport News Police Department is investigating a recent incident involving traffic fatality and crash.

The incident was reported near Turlington Road at Warwick Boulevard at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

According to a news release from the police, "A 71-year-old Newport News woman operating a 2009 silver Chevrolet Malibu was northbound on Warwick Blvd., making a left turn onto Turlington Road, when she was struck on the front right passenger side of her vehicle by a 2008 silver four -door Chrysler Pacifica traveling southbound on Warwick Blvd. in the far right travel lane. At 5:01 p.m, 71-year-old Lois Norton, of Indian Springs Drive in Newport News, was pronounced deceased from her injuries."

Police described the driver of the other car as a 35-year-old Newport News man.
